Ask before you buy

WHAT SHOULD
IT REALLY
COST?

Ask in plain English. We answer with the all-in price at every seller — after shipping and cashback — and we show our working. Every figure is an observation with a timestamp, never an estimate.

Your answer opens in its own tab, with the price, every seller we have seen, the cashback we could verify, and the reasons we were unsure — in that order, as you scroll.

How it works

Three steps, and you can check every one.

01

You ask in plain English

We reduce your sentence to the words a product title could plausibly contain, plus a spending ceiling if you named one. No model reads your question and no model writes any number on the page.

02

We price it all-in

Item, plus shipping, minus the best cashback we could actually verify. Parts we cannot source — sales tax, for one — are marked as unsourced rather than guessed at.

03

You scroll for the working

Every seller we have seen, the cashback that applied and where it came from, the price history, and anything we refused to publish. On the same page as the answer, not filed away somewhere else.

What we cover

CATEGORIES,
STORES.

Segments we cover

Stores we buy prices from

A seller appears here only once we have recorded a real price from it. The count is of distinct sellers in the archive, not of partnerships.

WHY OUR NUMBER
ISN’T THEIR NUMBER.

01

The sticker is not the price

Shipping and cashback both move it. We compute what leaves your account and show each part separately so you can check us — including the parts we cannot source, which we mark rather than estimate.

02

Some “prices” aren’t prices

Carrier instalments, marketplace oddities, used units listed as new. We flag them and say why, instead of quietly dropping them.

03

We record, we don’t estimate

Every figure is an observation with a timestamp. Where we haven’t observed enough yet, we say so and name the date we can answer.

The part nobody advertises

WE FOUND A PRICE.
SOMETIMES WE WON’T SHOW IT.

products are withheld right now because we could not prove the listing is the thing you asked for. A confident price on the wrong product is worse than no price at all, so we publish the refusals too — with the reason for every one.
